History

The FOREST-LINÉ Group was initiated in 1982, after the merger of FOREST in Capdenac (southern France) and LINÉ in Albert (northern France). Then in 2002, by creating the company LINÉ-Machines to take over Henri Liné Machine Outil, the new managers emphasize their will to carry on the development of FOREST-LINÉ Group. Through the last ten years, they reached a main position among the world market of large dimensional, high precision and heavy duty powerful machine-tools.

This position derives from a strategic will of satisfying the clients and innovating. With a permanent task force of 300 persons - of which 80 engineers - FOREST-LINÉ achieve a 50 millions € turnover, of which 40% in Europe, 50% in Asia and 10% in the rest of the world.

Thus does the FOREST-LINÉ INDUSTRIES group strengthen its potential and offer its worldwide customers quality machines and services.

Regular supplier of many international industrial groups :

Automotive industry Aeronautics and space industry Equipment industry Railway industry

automotive

aeronautics and space

equipment industries

railway industry

Nowadays belonging to a larger industrial holding group employing 3200 persons, the FOREST-LINÉ group capitalizes on the Forest-Liné and Liné Machines brands. Their industrial activity is shared between two sites, FOREST-LINÉ ALBERT and FOREST-LINÉ CAPDENAC. Each of these factories designs, builds, erects, commissions, guarantees and maintains the machines of its speciality.

Knowledge

Forest-Liné Albert

For more than one century did FOREST-LINÉ ALBERT capitalise the improvements that were obtained in the field of machines dedicated to milling of large dimensional parts out of hard material. Today they offer an extensive and homogeneous range of large milling centers with gantry type structure and vertical head. These are particularly welcome due to their sturdiness, their rigidity, and their high precision, despite the most difficult cutting conditions. These superb machines are typically well appreciated among activities of tool making and in equipment industries. Having taken over its subsidiary Liné Machines, Forest-Liné Albert carries on producing the large-size machine tools inherited from the concepts which made the renown of HLMO during the 90’s, among others for the aeronautical and railway industries.

Born more than forty years ago, initially dedicated to milling of aircraft propellers, FOREST-LINÉ CAPDENAC developped from the beginning their expertise in 5-axis simultaneous milling and mastered the design of ultra high speed milling machines. Their present range includes large machining centers with either vertical or horizontal spindle, high velocity milling centers (high frequency spindles + agile structures, meaning with very high feedrates and high accelerations), as well as typical milling machines specialized in making aerostructural parts. The company has been developing for 25 years a very innovative know-how on the booming market of processing systems for fibre and resin composite materials.

Forest-Liné Capdenac

In order to communicate directly and effectively with their prospects and clients, the FOREST-LINÉ Group is organized with a double network structure, meaning the Sales Management and the After-Sales Service. Both rely on the overseas extensions of the Group, subsidiaries and offices. These are mainly Mainz in Germany, Clifton in the USA, and Beijing in China.

The Sales organization, under Paris management, comprises of six geographical zones which cover the whole of industrialised countries. Each zone is covered by agents who maintain daily contacts with the clients, under the responsibility of a Sales Engineer.

Thus, more than a hundred representation companies promote the FOREST-LINÉ Group machine-tools on the five continents.

Being a regular supplier to the very large industrial groups of the world in aeronautics and space (BOEING, AIRBUS, DASSAULT,...) automotive (DAIMLER-CHRYSLER, GENERAL MOTORS, FORD, FIAT, PEUGEOT CITROEN, RENAULT,...) energy (ALSTOM, ABB, SIEMENS,...) railways ( VOSSLOH-COGIFER, SNCF, RATP,  BALFOUR BEATTY,...) this group also sells machine-tools to a large number of equipment industries (DYNAPAC, MARTIN, ROCKWELL, VALMET,...) among which several prestigious brands of machine-tools (TRUMPF, AMADA, LVD, JINAN,...).

With over 1500 large size numerical controlled machine tools operational in all industrialized countries on the five continents, the FOREST-LINÉ Group is offering you the unique experience developed under its brands and acquired day after day since the origin, taking pride in its customers' performances.
