With about 10 000 employees in five factories in Germany and over 50 setting ups all over the world, Krones is the leader in the beverage bottling and packaging industry.
Two large milling centres MAJORMILL have been commissioned in June 2008 at Krones in Nittenau (about 200 km from Munich).
FOREST-LINÉ CAPDENAC : AERONAUTICS : the FP ATLAS machine dedicated for the fiber placement : Now operational, working in production since end of 2007.
Stronger, lighter, versatile, carbon has all the requisites to become the material that aircraft manufacturers prefer.
Starting from an experience that is recognized all over the world in the field of composite material tape laying, FOREST-LINÉ is determined to remain a major actor in design and manufacture of machines that are taking up the new technological challenges of ever increasing use of composite structures.
Thanks to the success of the Linear Atlas with its all-in-one tape cutting and laying system, FOREST-LINÉ offers the FP ATLAS machine, which simultaneously lays down 32 fibers of 6,35 mm to realize large aircraft fuselage parts.
- What does mean "tape laying" ?
Tape laying consists in laying down on a form (tooling) tapes of thermosetting material into a succession of cross plies in order to obtain, after curing, a lightweight, but very stiff structure.
- What is Fiber Placement ?
Fiber placement is simultaneous lay-down of a large number (up to 32) of so-called «fibers» or tows pre-impregnated with thermosetting resin.
A large number of very narrow tows permits to lay down on non-developable surfaces (neither cylindrical nor conical), complex and sharply curved.
