FOREST LINÉ provides the users of ACCESS / ATLAS Tape Laying Systems with the TapeLay package, a global solution of two combined CATIA V5® integrated products:

Tape generation
Tape manufacturing

This easy-to-use CAM software is a CAAV5 product fully integrated with CATIA V5 for the manufacturing of composite parts with both single or double curvature. It creates tapes from plies while generating the laying trajectories and checking quality.

Both the Tape Course Generation and the Tape Course Manufacturing module offer a new toolbar for tape creation, analysis of the manufacturing plies and the creation of the tape laying process.
With the efficiency of the functions offered by this TapeLay package, the customers take advantage of the CATIA V5 source geometry issued by the composites workbench, the full visibility of the machine process in the CAD system and reduced programming time.
The set of TapeLay functions includes the selection of tape width, ply orientation, single or two-phase laying process as well as the display of the tool path.

The operator has the possibility to simulate and compare several laying strategies in order to evaluate the efficiency of each, such as:

  • Tape laying along geodesic lines.
  • Parallel edge-to-edge tape laying.

The TapeLay package has additional functions to program the paths of devices on-board the tape laying machine such as:

  • The ultrasonic trimming cutter.
  • The part contour checking Laser.

The post processor which prepares the part programs of the machines from the APT file is part of the TapeLay Package.
